Weston & Nisbet to Propose A Toast

Racing in brilliant form, Ron Weston & John Nisbet’s Propose A Toast will be hunting back-to-back wins in this Friday’s TAB Federal (1200m) at Queanbeyan. The four-year-old gelding is a recent inclusion to the Weston & Nisbet stable after the passing of his previous Trainer, Neville Layt.

A last start TAB Highway winner over 1400m, Propose A Toast enters Friday’s TAB Federal third up and in excellent condition according to Co-Trainer Ron Weston.

“He’s pulled up really well from his win in the TAB Highway.” Weston said. “The 1200m here is probably going to be a touch shorter than ideal but with all of the pace engaged, he’ll be hitting the line hard.”

Weston & Nisbet will be hoping for a good hit out here with plans to return to town on Saturday 9 October for another go at a TAB Highway, this time over the mile.

“It just looks the perfect race for him. He’s a really lovely animal and I think he’s capable of winning a good race one day.” Weston said.

Propose A Toast who has won three of his 13 starts and $92,590 in prizemoney meets a classy field of sprinters in Friday’s TAB Federal, each looking to make a big statement before the final Kosciuszko slots are filled.

Delacour and Cyborg for Norm Gardner, Zelago for Joseph & Jones Racing and Jawwaal for Mitch Beer have all been given a nice push by their Trainers as potential runners for next month’s $1.3m Kosciuszko at Royal Randwick.

The TAB Federal (1200m) is Race Five on Friday’s program and is due to jump 3:10pm.
