Sustainability the winner at Thoroughbred Park

The Canberra Racing Club have partnered with Canberra success story EPC Solar on a 100kW solar expansion on the current 99kW system at Thoroughbred Park.

On Monday, 5 June, EPC Solar began works on the system that upon completion will produce an estimated 287,341kW annually.

Canberra Racing Club Chief Executive Darren Pearce said, “The investment is a win for the environment and is another demonstration of the Canberra Racing Club’s value of sustainability and being a source of pride for the community.”

“We are happy to support a great local success story in EPC Solar who are true indigenous business.”

EPC Solar have committed to engaging with and supporting other Indigenous businesses with a policy of 20% of goods and services to be procured through Indigenous organisations.

Their values of sustainability, authenticity, and innovation, closely align with the Canberra Racing Club’s who have committed to designing and implementing a Reconciliation Action Plan at Thoroughbred Park in partnership with the Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation.

The upgrade solar expansion at Thoroughbred Park is due to be complete by 30 June 2023.
