Seib and Olive announced as new Canberra Trainers
The Canberra Racing Club is delighted to welcome Danielle Seib and Nick Olive to its training ranks.
Outstanding Trainers in their own right, both Seib and Olive bring quality operations and equine athletes to Thoroughbred Park.
The moves mean that Thoroughbred Park’s training facility is almost at capacity following the positive legislative change related to Worker’s Compensation.
Seib and Olive will hit the ground running with both stables currently placed in the top 20 on the NSW Country Trainer’s Premiership.
Canberra’s last Group 1 winning Trainer, Nick Olive returns after a successful stint in Queanbeyan.
“I am keen to get home.” Olive said. “Canberra is where I’ve trained for the majority of my life and it’s home to me.”
“I’m really excited to see what we can achieve back at Thoroughbred Park over the next few years.”
“Thoroughbred Park is a wonderful place to train horses with the heated equine pool and Polytrack just a couple of examples of the great facilities.”
Fresh off success in the Group 3 Ethereal Stakes, Nick Olive’s Spicy Lu will now be targeting the Group 1 Victoria Oaks on Thursday, 6 November. It is likely that Olive’s return to Canberra will be after this date.
Olive’s new neighbour Danielle Seib has been a revelation since taking out her Trainers license back in 2017 at the age of 23.
Since then she has crafted an immensely successful stable and currently sits 8th on the NSW Country Trainer’s Premiership.
“We feel that this move is the next step in our training journey.” Seib said. “There’s an opportunity for a small expansion and we’re really excited to train with the synthetic track and the equine pool.”
“Our owners are supportive of and excited by the move, not only for our horses but for the owner facilities on-course. Our great clients are one of the keys to our success.”
“We’ve had 13 individual winners this season from only 28 boxes which comes down to success we’ve had buying young horses at good prices.”
Seib and her team will begin moving in late October.
Both Seib and Olive are Trainers of immense quality and character and the Canberra Racing Club welcomes them to Thoroughbred Park.
