Keith Dryden to win his 8th Trainers Premiership

Keith Dryden will win his 8th Canberra Trainers Premiership tomorrow when racing returns to Thoroughbred Park.

The veteran Trainer is on 22 wins, 11 ahead of his nearest rival Annabel Neasham, going into the final meeting of the racing season, and he is a good chance of extending his lead.

Dryden will saddle up three chances, Fangela, La Sante and Best Intent, in what is a wonderful edition of the TAB Federal (1206m).

“All three are in the market and can win.” Dryden said.

Fangela returned well under a massive weight first up and he gets a bit of relief with Rebecca (Bronnett Prag)’s claim so we’re expecting to run well, he’s been a great horse for us.”

Fangela has been kind to connections and is a winner of over $200,000 and seven races. Stable mate La Sante has only recently joined Dryden’s yard and has since yielded three placings from four runs.

“He is going good.” Dryden said. “But we’ve just been hunting a dry track for him.”

“We took him out of Wagga on Monday because it was too wet, I think the synthetic will be a much better option for him this Friday.”

“We’ve also got Best Intent who we just can’t seem to find the right race for her at her current benchmark.”

“We’ve had to run her a little out of her class here, but in saying that the horse is going good enough to win a race like this.”

Dryden is known for his astute placement, something that has helped him win his 8th Canberra Trainer’s Premiership, although Dryden puts his success down to something else.

“Our hardworking staff are the reason our horses perform so consistently.” Dryden said.

“They’re the best and they’re led by Libby Snowden who is just such a good horseperson.”

“Libby and I think the same way.”

“We’ve worked together for 20 years so she can make decisions without me and it’s always the right one. She is a massive part of our success.”
