Hands Across Canberra announced as Canberra Festival of Speed charity partner
Organisers of the Canberra Festival of Speed are proud to announce Hands Across Canberra as the official charity partner for the 2026 festival.
Returning as partners, Hands Across Canberra Chief Executive Genevieve Jacobs said, “Hands Across Canberra is delighted to partner again with Thoroughbred Park for the Festival of Speed in 2026, kicking off our Canberra Day Appeal.”
“It’s a great example of Canberra institutions coming together to create a better, stronger and fairer community for everyone.”
“The Festival of Speed has steadily built a reputation as a premier Canberra event that brings a wide range of people together to celebrate each year.”
“Pairing it with our appeal for all Canberrans to support each other makes great sense.”
As well as fundraising efforts at the event, in 2026 a portion of every entrant ticket sold will be donated directly to Hands Across Canberra and will directly assist their mission to support over 350 charities within the Canberra Community.
“This year we’re thrilled that a donation from each vehicle entrant will go directly to Hands Across Canberra, solidifying an already deep connection between our organisations.” Jacobs said.
“Rev your engines, Canberra, we’re on our way – together.”
Canberra Racing Club Chief Executive and Canberra Festival of Speed Director Darren Pearce said, “Our festival is dedicated to supporting our community and being a chance to celebrate together in Canberra, a mission shared by Hands Across Canberra.”
“They support so many wonderful charities and causes and we’re hopeful our partnership can do tangible good for many.”
Tickets are on sale of the Canberra Festival of Speed, to be held at Thoroughbred Park on Saturday, 31 January and Sunday, 1 February 2026.
For the first time in the event’s history, performance motorcycles will be welcomed as organisers seek to grow and improve what has already been a greatly successful addition to the Canberra events calendar.
