Cinquedea (NZ) Breaks the Track Record in Inaugural Canberra Mile

Richard and Michael Freedman have taken out the inaugural $150,000 Affinity Electrical Technologies Canberra Mile. Cinquedea (NZ) proving far too good for his competitors in an incredibly strong race. Stable representative Will Freedman was ecstatic with the gelding’s performance.


“He was at the peak of his powers today. It’s a huge honor to take out the first ever Canberra Mile. My father and uncle (Richard and Michael Freedman) are Yass boys so we have strong ties to this place”.


Cinquedea (NZ), on his way to ballot exemption for the TAB Canberra Cup, broke the track record beating home Valentino Rossa by a length. A valiant second means Valentino Rossa also gains ballot exemption into the TAB Canberra Cup.


Aftermath for Team Snowden took out the ETS Refrigeration Black Opal Preview gaining ballot exemption into the John McGrath Auto Group Black Opal Stakes alongside Bjorn Baker’s Lady of Luxury.


Gold Touch for Luke Pepper just held out Matthew Dale’s Sausegde in the TAB Federal National Sprint Preview. Both gain ballot exemption into the Geocon National Sprint.


In the last, the EPC Solar Canberra Guineas Preview, John Sargent’s Foxborough defied being wide the trip to score and gain a berth in the XXXX Gold Canberra Guineas. Jason Coyle’s Sirmaze flashed home late for second, also gaining ballot exemption for the feature 3-year-old event of the Canberra Carnival.
