Canberra families to flock to Canberra Cup Day

Twelve months ago the Canberra Racing Club launched the two-day Canberra Carnival and with it, the family-focused TAB Canberra Cup Day. Held on the Canberra Day public holiday, the day was designed to provide the Canberra community with a great reason to stay in town for the long-weekend and proved to be a resounding success with thousands enjoying all the family day had to offer.

To partner the unrivalled thrill of live racing free kids activities such as pony rides, ponycycles, a jumping castle and live shows by kids band Mr Tim & the Fuzzy Elbows, ensured it was truly a fun day out for all ages.

In 2021, TAB Canberra Cup returns on the Canberra Day public holiday with the budget-savvy family in mind. Tickets, pre-sale via Ticketek are just $5 for Adults and free for children. Additional free activities for kids incldue horse & carriage rides, balloon artists and arcade games. Canberra Racing Club Chief Operating Officer Amy Squires is ecstatic with family offering that the Club has prepared.

“It was so satisfying to see so many smiling children running around the grounds last year” Squires said. “We’re confident we’ve cultivated a great family atmosphere again in 2021 and hope lots of Canberra families are here to enjoy the day.”

Gates for TAB Canberra Cup Day open at 11:30am on Monday 8 March with racing beginning from 1:10pm.
