Return of Patrons to Thoroughbred Park

Canberra Racing Club is delighted to announce that Owners, Members and Sponsors will be welcomed back to Thoroughbred Park effective from the next scheduled race meeting of 24 July 2020. 


It will be the first time crowds will be permitted under Government regulations to attend Thoroughbred Park since the inaugural Canberra Carnival over 8 and 9 March 2020.  


Canberra Racing Club CEO Andrew Clark said “Canberra Racing Club would like to thank the ACT Government and its colleagues at Racing NSW, whom the Club has been working with closely to achieve the return of patrons to Thoroughbred Park. The Club has developed a detailed COVID-19 Safety Plan to ensure the health of patrons and participants is not compromised. 


The announcement will be welcomed by the many patrons who support the Club and I would like to acknowledge the cooperation and understanding of the Members and Sponsors of the Club during the Pandemic as well as the many Owners of horses who have raced at patron free meetings.” 


Numbers for 24 July 2020 are limited to comply with current COVID-19 regulations, with patrons segregated from participants. Bookings with conditions, will be required and are now open within the Club to attend the race meeting in one of three function areas as follows:

 Black Opal Room with a 2 course meal for $40 per person;

 Silks with a 2 course meal and a five hour beverage package for $90 per person; and

 Rich Reward Room with seated food and drink facilities for $10 per person, refunded on arrival via a food and beverage voucher.
