Havelock Housing Association Meal Service

The Canberra Racing Club in partnership with Havelock Housing Association has just launched a subsidised ready-to-eat meal service to the community amid the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic.

With supermarket stock in short supply, foodstuffs hard to source and shopping limitations, many vulnerable Canberrans are finding it hard to easily access the food that they need.

Havelock House residents in particular are living with high and complex needs – including disability, physical and mental health issues – and require additional support to source healthy meals.

"This meal service is a true example of what community is all about, coming together to get through the tough times and making sure no one is left behind," said Havelock Housing CEO Andrew Rowe.

The service will also keep a number of Canberra Racing Club staff in employment during this time of uncertainty.

The meal service will be available to:

  • residents of Havelock House
  • community housing residents in HHA-managed homes
  • other community sector organisations
  • the wider community.
