Transfer to the Action Track (synthetic) from the Course Proper Policy

In the event of course proper at Thoroughbred Park being deemed unsafe for racing, the Canberra Racing Club Committee have empowered the Stewards to transfer a race meeting or races to the Acton track after final acceptances subject to the following policy:

• Race meetings and/or races should only be transferred to the Acton track in instances where Stewards deem the turf track unsafe for racing and the meeting would ordinarily have been abandoned.
• Races at distances of 1000 metres to be altered to 1080 metres.
• Races at distances of 1200 metres to be altered to 1206 metres.
• Races at distances of 1300 metres and 1400 metres to be altered to 1280 metres.
• Races at a distance of 1600 metres to be altered to 1750 metres.
• Races at a distance of 2000 metres to be altered to 1900 metres
• All trainers will be afforded the opportunity to scratch without penalty.
• Should the field sizes exceed the safe barrier limit of the Acton Track (12), horses are to be eliminated in ballot order as published by RacingNSW Handicappers.
• Should horses be equal in ballot order, horses are to be eliminated by lot, by the Stewards.
