The $40,000 TAB FEDERAL Tony Campbell Memorial Cup returns on Friday 5 October.   Incorporating the Students Race Day, the day has plenty of atmosphere with our budding youth from all educational institutions converging on course.  ANU, University of Canberra, CIT and ADFA will take time out from exams to kick up their heels at the races.  Free admission.

Gates open from 11:30 with the first race scheduled at approximately 1:30pm and the last at 5:50pm.

The SOLD OUT official luncheon hosted by Sky Channel’s Shawne Cosgrove will include the presentation of the 2017/2018 Premiership Awards.

The 2018 Lexus Melbourne Cup tour will also head to Thoroughbred Park where you can have your picture taken holding the iconic trophy.

The Fashions on the field is open to Ladies and Mens categories and the strict rules will apply.  Click here for more information.
Registrations are strictly between 1pm and 2pm on the day.  the competition will start at 3pm for the Classic Mens competition and the Classic Ladies shortly afterwards.

Free buses from the University of Canberra and ANU will loop from 12 noon until 2pm stopping directly out the front of the racecourse on Randwick Road. ACTION route 56 & 58 will operate from Belconnen and Civic along its usual route, with a detour down Randwick Road for racegoers. 

Buses will divert to the track and normal fare applies.

This is an over 18 only event.  Age verification marquees will be on course.  Only valid, current Australian forms of identification will be accepted. 

ACTION BUS INFORMATION FOR ANU AND UNIVERSITY OF CANBERRA STUDENTS

ANU to Canberra Racecourse

From Stop 4527 Barry Drive or Stop 4529 Rimmer St ANU catch any Blue Rapid 300 series to the City Bus Station.

Connect to a route 56 or 58 from Platform 8 in the City Bus Station, which will divert to the race course outside of peak times.

Other services from the City Bus Station Platform 8 include 200, 251, 252, & 255, which will allow travel to Flemington Road stop 4928, after Randwick Road.

Alternatively, catch route 3 southbound to the City Bus Station from stops within the ANU, connecting with services at Platform 8.

UC to Canberra Racecourse

Catch Blue Rapid 300 series from Stop 4979 College St to the City Bus Station. At Platform 8, catch routes 56 or 58 which will divert to the racecourse outside of peak times, or any Red Rapid 200 series to Gungahlin stopping at Stop 4928 Flemington Road after Randwick Road.

Our non-feature race days are free admission through the gates and the Winning Post Bar is open to the general public.  TAB facillities, ATM, coffee and Snaffles Snack Bar available.

RACE DAY OPTIONS

BLACK OPAL MEMBERS ROOM

Non-members are able to purchase day passes to the Members room for $15 per person on non-feature days only.  The Black Opal Room is located on the 2nd floor of the Queen Elizabeth II grandstand and overlooks the Winning Post and grand views of the Majura, Ainslie and Black Mountains.  A TAB, bar, buffet station and amenities are located in this room. 

Bookings for a maximum of  30 guests (tables of 10) may be available and bookings are essential.  Long tables can be set for odd numbers. 

BAR TAB
A bar tab, consumption or beverage package can be organised prior to the day. 

MEMBERS DAY PASS 
A $15 members day pass is required for each guest if they are not a member of the Club.  Annual memberships are available for Full, Senior and Young Members.

BOOKING FEE 
A non-refundable $25 booking fee is required at the time of table booking. 

DINING OPTIONS 
A meal which consists of roast meats and/or a selection of Chef’s specials and available for $30 per person and includes a bread roll, main meal, dessert, tea & coffee.

3 course meals may be available dependant on other functions on course.  If this is of interest we can supply you with the menu options at your request.

DECORATIONS
If you are celebrating a special event balloons and table decorations are permitted. Please discuss with us if you would like a cake as we do not permit food to be bought into the Black Opal Room.

DRESS REGULATIONS 
Race wear attire is encouraged.  For men, a collared shirt and dress pants are required.  No Denim. Ties and jackets are not necessary. 

RACEBOOKS 
Racebooks can be pre-ordered for your table for $5 per book.

RICH REWARD OR SILKS ROOM 

On occasion there may be availability for large corporate groups or tables in an official function on race day with hospitality.  Please contact the Club for enquiries.  Sponsorship may also be available on the day.

WINNING POST BAR

Tables can be reserved in the Winning Post Bar for smaller groups, inside or outside in the Courtyard area for $100 per booking.  It is a requirement that table bookings pre-order food platters and a tab or consumption bookings can be facilitated.
