TAB Canberra Cup Race Day
The inaugural Canberra Racing Carnival will be capped off by the TAB Canberra Cup Race Day. Run on monday of the long weekend, Canberra Day, the Canberra Cup Race Day will have a strong emphasis on family. Entertainment and attractions for kids combined with the excitement of live racing makes the day a truly unique experience for all ages.
A plethora of rides and activites will be joined by shows from the Chiildren's comedy band, Mr Tim and the Fuzzy Elbows. Mr Tim and the Fuzzy Elbows are for the inner child in everyone; inspired by "The Muppets" and "Sesame Street" ideals of sophisticated music with lyrics that connect to young people!
With a family show full of spontaneous songs, comedy and witty music all ages will enjoy this spellbinding mix of blues, folk, rock, country and what can only be described as a ‘Hypnotic Transylvanian polka'

The $250,000 TAB Canberra Cup (Listed) is joined by the $150,000 XXXX Gold Canberra Guineas (Listed) and the newly introduced $50,000 TAB Lickety Split.
Your GA ticket or members badge entitles you to free travel on Canberra Metro Operations on the day. This includes Light Rail and buses. A Light Rail station is position adjacent to Thoroughbred Park meaning coming and going has never been easier.
RACE DAY OPTIONS
BLACK OPAL MEMBERS ROOM
Non-members are able to purchase day passes to the Members room for $15 per person on non-feature days only. The Black Opal Room is located on the 2nd floor of the Queen Elizabeth II grandstand and overlooks the Winning Post and grand views of the Majura, Ainslie and Black Mountains. A TAB, bar, carvery style meals and amenities are located in this room.
Bookings for a maximum of 30 guests (tables of 10) may be available and bookings are essential. Long tables can be set for odd numbers.
A bar tab, consumption or beverage package can be organised prior to the day.
MEMBERS DAY PASS
A $15 members day pass is required for each guest if they are not a member of the Club. Annual memberships are available for Full, Senior and Young Members.
A non-refundable $25 booking fee is required at the time of table booking.
A meal which consists of carvery style / selection of Chef’s specials available for $18.50, $22.50 for the Food Wine Deal.
If you are celebrating a special event balloons and table decorations are permitted. Please discuss with us if you would like a cake as we do not permit food to be brought into the Black Opal Room.
Race wear attire is encouraged. The minimum standard for gentlemen is neat casual dress, with collared shirt unless worn under a sports coat. The minimum standard for women is neat casual of an appropriate standard for the members’ enclosure.
Dress jeans may be worn by men and women with acceptable footwear.
Windcheaters, parkas, tracksuit tops, thongs, shorts, running shoes and singlets are unacceptable. Notwithstanding the above, the Club reserves unto itself the right to exercise discretion regarding dress.
Race books can be pre-ordered for large bookings for your table for $5 per book, or purchased on the day.
RICH REWARD OR SILKS ROOM
On occasion there may be availability for large corporate groups or tables in an official function on race day with hospitality. Please contact the Club for enquiries. Sponsorship may also be available on the day.
WINNING POST BAR
Tables can be reserved in the Winning Post Bar for smaller groups, inside or outside in the Courtyard area for $200 per booking. It is a requirement that table bookings pre-order food platters and a tab or consumption bookings can be facilitated.

All members are eligible to receive a complimentary general admission ticket and members day pass with forms required to be competed and returned to Thoroughbred Park administration by Friday January 31st 2020.
