The Canberra Racing Club is set for one of its biggest race days of the year and
punters will be challenged by competitive fields all day.
Race 8, the $40,00 TAB Federal as drawn a sharp line-up at BM 60 level, with the Nick Olive-trained DREAMING OF BISCAY making strong appeal.
The filly has won here and has plenty to give off the lip defeat FU. She had come off Group company at the Gold Coast and looks to have a bit on these at best.
Olive is a chance to top and tail with MAID OF ORE well-placed in Race 1. Her last start was a comfortable win and can go on up in trip with the extra fitness.
Premier trainers Keith Dryden-Scott Collings also look in for a good day. ROSECRAFT presents as a strong winning chance in Race 2, as does Vigorish in Race 4.
Matt Dale is hard to risk at home and expect TRIBBIANI to make sharp improvement in Race 3 off a good debut, and his other runner, TE ATA presents as one of the better chances in the Federal, and has been saved for the race.
Another leading local yard, Team Joseph is well represented with REIGN OVER ME sure to go well in Race 3, and HALVEKA is a big watch resuming in Race 6.
For once-a year-punters, premier hoop Matt Cahill is the jockey to keep onside; presenting again with a strong book of rides.
