On the right track for Single Gaze and Fell Swoop

Canberra’s star gallopers Single Gaze and Fell Swoop pleased connections with their runs on Saturday as they prepare for bigger spring assignments.

Single Gaze’s trainer Nick Olive believes his mare’s fifth in the Makybe Diva Stakes was one of her best performances.

He is now deciding whether to run Single Gaze in the Underwood Stakes on Saturday week or the Turnbull Stakes the following week.

Olive says Single Gaze came through the Makybe Diva in good order and believes she would have gone close to placing with a better gate.

She’ll now step up to more suitable journey’s and remains on track for her Caulfield Cup target.

Fell Swoop resumed in Sydney in The Shorts and finished the race off well.  Trainer Matt Dale says it was a good campaign-opener on a very fast track and met his expectations.

Dale will now decide whether to race Fell Swoop in the Moir Stakes at Mooney Valley, or the Premier Stakes at Randwick, ahead of the $10m Everest at Randwick in three and a half weeks.
