A Summer Holiday for Valmai

Friday 28 December was a very lucky day for Valmai James at the Canberra Racing Club when she won the $4000 jackpot members badge draw.  Valmai has been a member for over 15 years and can be found dining in the Black Opal Room with friends at almost every race day.  Not only did she back a winner on the day, which she tells us is a rarity, she was shocked when her number was drawn after Race 4.  “I always have a lovely day at the races and was even more excited about my win” She said.  Valmai plans on going on a holiday to Noosa, her last visit was where she spent her ho

Chasing Charlie was untroubled in his first race start, despite doing plenty wrong against a modest field of fellow juveniles.

FIRST-UP WIN NOT BEYOND NISBET'S EXPECTATIONs

By Simon Dinopoulos

A fantastic record fresh leaves Canberra based trainer John Nisbet confident his consistent galloper Beyond Expectation can return to the winners stall when he lines up at Canberra this Friday.

Not seen at the racetrack since June this year after failing in the heavy conditions at the Sapphire Coast, Nisbet will be hoping Beyond Expectation can continue his impressive record fresh having claimed three wins and one minor placing from just five attempts.
