Goulburn brings out the big guns

The Country Championship series progresses to Goulburn District Racingthis coming Saturday with the South East Racing Association (SERA) hosting the $150,000 main event. The eventual winner and runner up will gain automatic entry into the $500,000 Newhaven Park Country Championships final to be held at Royal Randwick in Sydney on Day 1 of The Championships, Saturday 6 April 2019.

The series heat has attracted some very strong nominations including the overall series favorite, Noble Boy. The Todd Blowes runner is a dominant $4 favorite with the TAB for the series finale without even qualifying yet. In what has been a short and stunning career, the 4-year-old gelding is unbeaten in his 4 starts to date, including wins at Albury, Goulburn, Warwick Farm and Rosehill.

As per previous years, the strong stables of Danny Williams RacingJoseph Jones Racing and Dryden & Collings, has nominated a strong array of runners and added much texture to an already very compelling heat. Many pundits are suggesting that this will be the most competitive heat of the entire Country Championships Series and should give SERA a strong chance of claiming their first Country Championship winner.

The Goulburn District Racing Club will be looking to showcase the best of racing that SERA has to offer with a strong 8-race program and a lucrative $40,000 showcase maiden. In addition, the club has been running a variety of competitions to promote a terrific day of racing. The club has been working with Radio Goulburn, offering a brilliant VIP experience for 2, which includes a chauffeured ride to the track, a behind the scenes experience and free entry to the member’s area. In addition, for anybody wanting to book any seating, marquees or dining packages with Goulburn District Racing, you will also go into the draw to win a sensational Jamala Wildlife Lodgepackage, valued at over $2000.
