Popular Partnership Heads to Brisbane

High class Canberra-trained mare Single Gaze and her jockey partner Kathy O’Hara will continue their association in Brisbane on Saturday.

Single Gaze will recommence her campaign in the Listed Tails Stakes (1600m) at Doomben where Canberra-trained Maryore will also compete.

Trainer Nick-Olive says Single Gaze travelled up with Maryore and arrived “really well”.

Olive says Single Gaze got a clod in the eye when running a last start third in the Group 3 Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on 25 March and had to be treated for a week.

“I think the break has been a blessing in disguise,” Olive says.

“She goes into Saturday’s race as good as I have ever had her.”

Olive says if all goes well Single Gaze will go on to the Hollindale Stakes at the Gold Coast, the Doomben Cup and the P J O’Shea Stakes at Eagle Farm.

Single Gaze has been posted the $4.50 favourite in early markets for the Tail Stakes with Maryore $11.
