ACTTAB TONY CAMPBELL MEMORIAL CUP WRAP UP

The 7th annual ACTTAB Tony Campbell Memorial Cup Race day was held on Friday 31 August with another successful meeting. Sky Channel’s Andrew Bensley hosted the official function attended by 270 guests and the annual premiership awards were presented. The awards are summarised in the 2012 Annual Report. There were in total 400 people booked into functions for the day. The day was topped off with great racing by Lebrechaun taking out the ACTTAB Tony Campbell Memorial Cup. Lebrechaun is trained at Thoroughbred Park by Matthew Dale and was ridden by apprentice jockey Lestor Grace who earlier in the day had been presented with his Apprentice Jockey Premiership Award.

CONTRIBUTION TO ACT RACING INDUSTRY AWARD

On ACTTAB Tony Campbell Memorial Cup Day Peter Joseph was presented with the Contribution to ACT Racing Industry Award. Peter Joseph was raised in Bombala and since his youth has had an association with racing whether as a racehorse owner, breeding racehorses or riding as an amateur jockey. Peter’s passion for racing has continued throughout his life and he is now one of the most prolific race horse owners in the country. At last count he is currently a part owner of 27 active race horses. Peter and his wife Barbara have been a formidable team in establishing a significant training base at Thoroughbred Park where they own two large stable complexes out of which Barbara and Paul Jones run their training partnership. Peter has also been a solid contributor to the administration of racing and for the past 12 years has been a Committee member of the Canberra Racing Club during which time he has been involved in the development of Thoroughbred Park. Peter has acted as an unofficial ambassador for the Thoroughbred Park always promoting the Club at the many race meetings he attends throughout the country. For his all-round contribution there is no more worthy winner of the Contribution to ACT Racing Industry Award than Peter Joseph. Peter resigned from the Committee of the Club in late May and was replaced by Paul Meiklejohn.

- The network will then list your options
- Choose Thoroughbred Park
- You can then go to your internet site, safari for example. You will then be directed to the Terms and Conditions Page.
