Belle Ready To Sizzle at Doomben

Belle Ready Canberra filly Sizzling Belle is in “terrific order” heading into tomorrow’s Moet & Chandon Champagne Classic at Doomben.

Trainer Nick Olive says Sizzling Belle has settled in well at the Gold Coast and appears is as good as ever; both in condition and under saddle.

“She has to do it out of a Golden Slipper campaign, but she’s in great order and we are expecting a big run tomorrow,” he says.

Olive says he’s not fazed by the prospect of a damp track.

“Her sire Sizzling won at his only two runs on the heavy and her dam, Greenmount Belle, won three from five on heavy surfaces.

“She just gives me the impression she will handle it.”

Sizzling Belle has always raced forward because she’s had the circumstances to do so, but Olive says he’s confident she can settle further back if required — and that’s a possibility in tomorrow's race where there is plenty of early dash.

Two runs back Sizzling Belle was just beaten by Encryption in the rich Black Opal Stakes at Canberra and that reads well for the Doomben contest.

She is currently quoted at $5.00 on TAB fixed odds, behind early favourite Dynamited ($4:00).
